Each episode offers a platform for established and emerging musicians, alongside industry professionals, commentators, historians, and educators—all brought together on a single set. Hosted by Pierre Verville, a well-known media personality with a deep knowledge of jazz, the program features in-depth interviews as well as live performances by jazz groups showcasing their original music.
Combining live performance, jazz history rooted in Montreal, education, and industry insights, Jazz@Vue delivers a dynamic and accessible take on the world of jazz.

“My most recent repertoire consists of piano trio pieces inspired by a shift in how I perceive the external world. I began to see objects, animals, plants, and surrounding sounds as complete worlds in themselves, each existing within its own parallel universe. For me, music has the extraordinary power to suspend fleeting moments in time—moments that already belong to the past. It finds its true meaning in the sharing of these moments in the present, in a space that exists somewhere between reality and imagination.”

His soft, comforting voice eases you into a state of relaxation, wrapped in the deep hush of winter. Blending natural sounds with a delicate musical score crafted to guide you into sleep, this podcast invites you to take a deep breath, unwind, and join Audible on a journey to the land of dreams.

She was awarded the Oscar Peterson Prize at the Montreal International Jazz Festival in 2017, and has received two Juno Awards for her orchestra recordings Treelines (2011) and Habitat (2014).
Christine also co-leads the ensemble Nordic Connect with her sister, trumpeter Ingrid Jensen. Their latest recording, Infinitude, featuring guitarist Ben Monder, was nominated for a Juno Award in 2017.
For this performance, Christine presents her music in a quartet format, joined by three outstanding

To mark its 20th anniversary, audiences are invited to discover and enjoy compositions by each member of this multi-generational group, featuring Mario Allard, Annie Dominique, Claire Devlin, Jacques Kuba Seguin, Thomas Morelli-Bernard, Félix Stussi, Alain Bédard, and Michel Lambert.

After 35 years of recording numerous group albums, creating a first solo piano record became a natural step. In this spirit, collaborating with renowned sound engineer Gérard De Haro at Studio La Buissonne where internationally acclaimed musicians have recorded was an obvious choice.
A solo album is an act of vulnerability. It offers a space for introspection without sacrificing dynamic contrast, resulting in music that is both varied and unpredictable blending the spontaneity of improvisation with a strong sense of structure.

His training includes international experiences such as the Domaine Forget Academy, the Alternative Guitar Summit in the United States, and private lessons in New York. There he rubs shoulders with masters such as Roland Dyens, Manuel Barrueco, John Scofield, Bill Frisell, Wolfgang Muthspiel and Chico Pinheiro.
Now based in Montreal, he has become a distinctive voice on the Quebec and international scenes. His music, infused with jazz, blues, and Middle Eastern influences, reflects his plural roots. He collaborates with renowned artists and performs across North America, Europe, and the Middle East. Leader of the Samuel Bonnet Trio, he continues to develop a hybrid creative approach, notably showcased in his album “Hybride” (2022).
He also teaches at the École de musique Vincent‑d’Indy and contributes to pedagogical development. As an artist‑researcher, he builds bridges between tradition and innovation, asserting a unique voice in today’s musical landscape.

The current iteration of the Quiet Quintet’s program explores the music of African American musicians Kenny Dorham (trumpet) and Joe Henderson (saxophone).

The energy and spontaneity of a live recording are often unmatched—and it is precisely this spirit that the François Bourassa Quartet seeks to capture and share with this new release.

These parallel paths converge and enrich one another, allowing Rieu to approach each project with a sense of originality and relevance consistently praised by critics and embraced by audiences.

With a rich and extensive professional career, she is a respected jazz musician both in Quebec and internationally. She has taken part in several international tours, most recently in China as a soloist with the show Cavalia. An integral figure on the Montreal jazz scene, she has lent her voice to numerous composers, including Jean-Nicolas Trottier (Elements – Tales From Within), Philippe Côté (Lungta), Joel Kerr (False Dawn), and Rafael Zaldivar (Consecration).
The Orchestre de Jazz de Montréal has not only invited her to perform in multiple concerts, but also commissioned her to compose Les chants du Phoenix, a work for which she received support from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec. This concert earned her a nomination for “Jazz Concert of the Year” at the Opus Awards.

Her work as a tenor saxophonist takes shape in a quintet format, with Tout Autour (2015) and Rue Langevin (2017) released under the Annie Dominique Quintet. Widely praised by both French- and English-language media, her incisive and modern approach to jazz has left a distinct mark on the Montreal scene. The quintet is currently preparing its third album, scheduled for release in spring 2022.
In addition to being a member of the late Vic Vogel’s renowned Jazz Big Band, Annie has been invited to perform with numerous ensembles, including the Orchestre National de Jazz de Montréal, the Jazzlab Orchestra, the Jean-Nicolas Trottier Tentet, the Taylor Donaldson Big Band, and the Beth McKenna Jazz Orchestra.

The series was so successful that a second edition was launched in fall 2021, featuring exclusively seven female musicians, composers, and bandleaders from Quebec’s jazz scene, including Mireille Boily and Annie Dominique.
The concerts were specifically designed for high-definition web streaming, offering audiences an immersive experience despite public health restrictions.

With hundreds of performances and around fifteen studio recordings to her credit, she has built a rich and diverse career. The release of her debut album in May 2015 marked a defining moment, affirming her unique voice as a creator. Paysages du jour tranquille introduced a fresh artistic signature and was warmly received by both critics and audiences alike.
She is currently working on her next opus, Le Nid, scheduled for release in spring 2022.

Winner of numerous awards over the years—including the Stingray Rising Stars Award (2018), a Félix Award at ADISQ (2015), an Opus Award (2014), and Radio-Canada Jazz Revelation (2014–2015)—the trio has established itself as a key voice on today’s Canadian jazz scene, with a remarkable rise since 2010.
In recent years, the group has performed in 12 countries across four continents. In April 2019, the Emie R Roussel Trio was honored to present an official showcase at jazzahead!.

The concert unfolds as a journey through their respective matrices and cultural origins, distinct yet capable of merging through a process of hybridization. The result is a musical experience that feels both familiar and unknown, spontaneous and profound, blending original compositions with reinterpretations of jazz standards.

For over eight years, she has been active in a wide range of ensembles—including big bands, jazz trios and quintets, and various combos—performing at numerous music festivals across Canada. She has contributed to both jazz and popular music projects, and performs primarily with her own group, the EP Quintet, touring throughout the province.
She was awarded a grant from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec for her album launch at L’Astral. Her debut album, Le monde adulte, was released in June 2021.

With Exalta calma, the group layers opposing forces, evoking inner tensions that can inhabit a painting, a person, or even a single sound. Rather than chasing the thrill of speed, the music leans into shivers, the elasticity of phrasing, and a restrained sense of exultation.

The interplay between these four exceptional musicians—never hesitant to express deep emotion or explore subtle tonalities—reveals a musical landscape that is at once powerful, sensitive, and atmospheric.
Yves Léveillé — piano & composition
Roberto Murray — saxophones
Guy Boisvert — double bass
Alain Bastien — drums

The group’s self-titled album is currently nominated for an Opus Award and ranked third on two “Best Albums of 2020” lists—one compiled by the radio show Escales on Coco Jazz Radio, and the other by sortiesjazznights.com.
SuperNova 4’s music goes straight to the heart. Whether you’re drawn to Bonobo or Urubu—two pieces from their latest repertoire—you won’t come away unchanged from this musical journey.

This project resonates with the strangeness of 2020. Séguin explores the spaces we inhabit—those we conceal, as well as those we have rediscovered. Music becomes both a source of hope and a place of escape for the soul. This series of compositions is sure to captivate audiences—and yes, there were beautiful stories in 2020, too.
