Gentiane MG

From a very young age, Gentiane MG was drawn to music as a powerful means of expression. As a child, she explored playing by ear, inventing variations on pieces she had memorized. Later, her studies in jazz and improvisation gave her the tools to carve out her own path through composition, seeking inspiration through introspection. Her music is rooted in the tradition of improvised jazz, infused with impressionist and romantic influences that together shape a distinctive sonic universe.

“My most recent repertoire consists of piano trio pieces inspired by a shift in how I perceive the external world. I began to see objects, animals, plants, and surrounding sounds as complete worlds in themselves, each existing within its own parallel universe. For me, music has the extraordinary power to suspend fleeting moments in time—moments that already belong to the past. It finds its true meaning in the sharing of these moments in the present, in a space that exists somewhere between reality and imagination.”
