Saxophonist, flutist, bass clarinetist, and composer, Annie Dominique has been an active presence on the Montreal music scene for over 20 years. After earning her Master’s degree from McGill University with distinction in 2014, she began writing her first albums as a composer and bandleader.
Her work as a tenor saxophonist takes shape in a quintet format, with Tout Autour (2015) and Rue Langevin (2017) released under the Annie Dominique Quintet. Widely praised by both French- and English-language media, her incisive and modern approach to jazz has left a distinct mark on the Montreal scene. The quintet is currently preparing its third album, scheduled for release in spring 2022.
In addition to being a member of the late Vic Vogel’s renowned Jazz Big Band, Annie has been invited to perform with numerous ensembles, including the Orchestre National de Jazz de Montréal, the Jazzlab Orchestra, the Jean-Nicolas Trottier Tentet, the Taylor Donaldson Big Band, and the Beth McKenna Jazz Orchestra.
