After composing a symphony for orchestra and a series of sextet works for MiGRATIONS—a project that earned both a Félix Award and a Juno Award—trumpeter Jacques Kuba Séguin enters a new phase of creation. Joined by the agile bassist Rémi-Jean Leblanc and the bold, inventive drummer Kevin Warren, he presents a collection of short pieces—like musical vignettes drawn from everyday life.
This project resonates with the strangeness of 2020. Séguin explores the spaces we inhabit—those we conceal, as well as those we have rediscovered. Music becomes both a source of hope and a place of escape for the soul. This series of compositions is sure to captivate audiences—and yes, there were beautiful stories in 2020, too.
