Originally from Victoriaville, saxophonist Élisabeth Provencher is a graduate of the Cégep de Saint-Laurent’s professional music and song program (performance profile), where she studied with Jean-Pierre Zanella and Alexandre Côté. She also holds an Honours degree in Jazz Performance from McGill University, where she studied with Rémi Bolduc and Christine Jensen. She has had the opportunity to perform with guest artists such as Sam Newsome, Jean-Michel Pilc, and Ryan Truesdell.
For over eight years, she has been active in a wide range of ensembles—including big bands, jazz trios and quintets, and various combos—performing at numerous music festivals across Canada. She has contributed to both jazz and popular music projects, and performs primarily with her own group, the EP Quintet, touring throughout the province.
She was awarded a grant from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec for her album launch at L’Astral. Her debut album, Le monde adulte, was released in June 2021.
